Why Collect Silver and Gold Numismatic Coins?

Collecting is a very enjoyable hobby. Every once in a while collecting can be very profitable say in the case of a rare stamp collection, paintings, baseball cards. Collecting numismatic gold and silver coins is more than just a hobby!

Numismatics is defined as the study or collecting of coins, medals, and paper money. Numis network coins are gold and silver coins of the highest graded silver and gold numismatic coins available. Each coin is delivered inspected, graded, certified and encapsulated in a tamper-proof clear-plastic container for preservation.

As you probably know the Government is on a spending spree that is systematically destroying the value of the dollar. U.S. taxpayers are now on the hook for over $10 trillion dollars! And that number is growing daily!

I have trouble rapping my mind over $100,000! What is 10 Trillion Dollars? It is what the bible refers to as burdening the backs of the people with taxes. It is in essence bankrupting the financial future of generations to come. Generations of your children and my children.

By spending too much we are mortgaging the lives of our unborn children.

What is to Mortgage you many ask

ORIGIN late Middle English: from Old French, literally 'dead pledge,' from mort (from Latin mortuus 'dead' ) + gage 'pledge.'

What's the government's answer: Print More Money and, the Fed's printing presses are set on overdrive. And the more they print the less valuable the dollar becomes and we head into hyperinflation e.g., Zimbabwe where the prices of a loaf of bread is in the millions of their local currency!

The decline of paper currency that is not backed by the gold standard demands that you begin to protect yourself, especially as jobs become scarce with the rise of technology.

To guard against this economic upheaval it is advisable that you start collecting Gold and Silver. Gold and Silver is God's money. God's money is real money. Right now the notion and idea of collecting gold and silver has not reached the masses. So the time is ripe, the coins are very affordable and best of all you can safe-guard against burdening your future generations with taxes!

In fact numis gold and silver coins are a $10 Billion dollar industry just within the U.S. and a $100 Billion dollar industry worldwide. Cash In, You Deserve It!

How to Receive FREE Silver American Eagle Coins As a Silver Snowball Affiliate

A new affiliate program has recently positioned itself in the market by offering its participants the opportunity to invest in and receive FREE Silver American Eagle Coins. The name of the program is called Silver Snowball, and I've recently added it to my online marketing portfolio as a way to easily add valuable real assets to my financial balance sheet, and blog about it frequently.

This article discusses the process of how myself and others earn money online with Silver Snowball, while also adding pure silver American Eagle Coins to the asset column of our financial statements at no cost.

The underlying foundation of the money making process that I use is found in the affiliate marketing business model. In a nutshell, the affiliate marketing business model is comprised of

A Business Owner with Goods and Services to sell

and

A Marketer who advertises and promotes the Business Owner's Goods and Services

On the Internet, as well as offline, Business Owners with goods and services to sell, establish affiliate programs as a way to get the word out about what they have to offer. As a result, those who choose to market and promote a particular line of goods and services can do so on behalf of the Business Owner, in exchange for being paid when a sale occurs.

So, if you were to join a Business Owner's affiliate program, and you proceeded to market and promote the Business Owner's goods and services, when a sale occurs as the result of your promotional efforts, the Business Owner would pay you, the marketer-affiliate, a commission on the sale resulting from your promotional efforts. Bear in mind that many Marketer-Affiliates automate the marketing and promotion process, which allows any one marketer-affiliate to participate in multiple affiliate programs (Most of which are free) with a minimal expenditure of time and effort.

Now, in the context of this discussion, Silver Snowball is an affiliate program run by business owner Ed Freeman. Ed's business is the sale and delivery of 1 oz. Silver American Eagle coins by mail via his "Coin of the Month" program. The Silver Snowball affiliate program offers to marketer-affiliates the opportunity to not only participate in the "Coin of the Month" program as a customer, but to also earn Silver American Eagle Coins at no cost by marketing and promoting the "Coin of the Month" silver/gold accumulation program.

So, as a Silver Snowball marketer-affiliate, I earn money online by marketing and promoting the Silver Snowball "Coin of the Month" program, in conjunction with a portfolio of other affiliate programs.

The power and effectiveness of the Silver Snowball program lies in its simplicity. You get to grow your asset base by investing in 2 or more Silver American Eagles coins each month (which you physically receive by mail), while earning additional Silver American Eagle coins or cash, when your affiliate marketing and promotion efforts result in new "Coin of the Month" customers who also purchase 2 or more Silver American Eagle coins each month.

No recruiting, No sponsoring, No matrix building, No creating products, just a solid business model that builds your wealth. It's one of the ways that I earn money online and I highly recommend it if you're considering a simple straightforward work at home business, or find yourself overwhelmed and frustrated by information overload and hype about the latest and greatest product or MLM.

Collecting Silver Coins - Investing in Today's Economy

Few people that have analyzed the current level of federal spending and the entailing deficits that are projected for the foreseeable future, would argue that inflation is a necessary consequence of the ballooning national debt that is being accumulated. Whether this inflationary trend might repeat the gloomy days of the 1970's is unclear or whether it might even exceed them is unknown. What is certain is that individuals that do not adequately prepare for this could see their savings lose even more value.

While there is no sure fire way to escape every economic scenario, investors have traditionally turned to gold as the primary hedge against inflation. During the last several years in the midst of the stock market unpredictability stemming from the tech bust of the late of 2000, followed by the terrorists' attacks of 2001, and finally the banking and real estate crisis, stocks have declined astronomically. In turn, gold has rise in value from approximately 300 dollars an ounce to over 1000 dollars at present. Whether this simply reflects inflationary pressure or simply the security that gold represents, the results are impressive.

The problem of course is that spending a $1000 for an ounce of gold is not the most realistic course for most families. There is little doubt that even if gold were to fall in value, it will never fall to zero. The same cannot be said for stocks or bonds. Nevertheless the investment cost is still considerable. This brings us to silver.

Silver might be thought as a poor's man gold, but its value should not be underestimated. At $15-$20 an ounce silver coins are affordable for almost anyone and the lower price while limiting the huge upsurge seen in gold, can likewise guard against the probability that its price will similarly swing in value. Different formulas have mapped the relationship between gold and silver, and it seems at present that silver is undervalued to some extent. This may provide an opportunity to invest. If the 1970's are any indication, inflationary trends do raise the price of silver. At its peak, silver was valued at $50 an ounce.

The other benefit to silver as well as other precious metals is the simple fact that you have something tangible in your possession. Silver is easily liquidated and easily purchased. The variability of stocks and makes having some silver in your portfolio something to consider especially in an era when paper stocks are increasingly worth less than the paper and ink to print them.

History Behind The Gold And Silver Coins

People in the older times do not use any form of currency to buy things they need. They just trade their goods at the market place and exchange things they have for things they want or need. As time pass, people began to learn the value of currency. They started to use money as instrument to purchase goods and services. Because gold has always been considered a valuable commodity, they minted gold coins as their first currency.

Gold And Silver Coins

Gold coins were first introduced between 643-630 BC. They were introduced by the Lydian King Croesus. People at that time used electrum, a pale yellow mixture of silver and gold which occurs in the Lydia naturally. People then do not know how to separate gold and silver. So in actuality, the first gold coin was a mixture of silver and gold.

They begin to learn how to separate gold from silver around 560 B.C. That was when the first real gold coins existed. While manufacturing gold coins, they also started to make silver coins. Silver coins worth less than gold coins. That is why rich people in the kingdom used the gold coins while the less rich working class used silver coins.

When King Croeseus was captured by the Persian army in 546 B.C, the Persians went through the kingdom of Lydia. They found the gold coins there. They were amazed at how the people of Lydia mint gold coins and decided to learn the trade. As they also considered gold as a precious metal, they soon adopted the use of gold coins.

As Persia was considered one of the most progressive nations in the olden times, the use of the golden coin soon spread quickly to other parts of the world. For the next several years, gold coins played an important role in the area of commerce. People from all over the world used gold to obtain good and services all over the world.

The use of gold coins however stopped in 1933. Countries all over the world begin to find it too expensive to use gold coins as their currency. Nowadays, some countries use gold-colored coins which no longer contain gold.

Silver Coins

For more than 170 years, the U.S. Mint was allowed to stamp a silver coin in different denominations. Different denominations of the silver coins include silver coin for dollars, half dollars, quarters and dimes. In 1965 however, a worldwide silver shortage resulted in the making of a silver coin against the presidential order. The silver coins went from 90 percent silver to 0 percent in dimes and quarters while they are only 40 percent in the half dollar.

The last half dollar silver coin made was the Kennedy half dollar. Currently there are no new half dollar silver coins being minted. Most collectors of the pre-1964 Kennedy half dollars are holding on to them. However, because there were so many half dollars in circulation, they are now considered "junk" coins by most collectors as they hold very little premium over face value.

The dollar silver coin was created in 1794 and discontinued in 1935. It was then resumed in 1971 with the non-silver Eisenhower dollar, which was later on replaced in 1979 by the Susan B. Anthony one-dollar coin. This was then replaced by the gold plated Sacagawea dollar.

Gold And Silver Coin Values

Just like other coins, gold and silver coin values are dependent on many factors, including the number of gold and silver coins created, their age, rarity, and the condition of the coins.

Age Of The Coin

Coin values are first determined by their age. The older the coin, the more value it will have. When determining coin values based on the age of the coins, tests will be carried out to verify authenticity and precise age of the coins.

Number Created

The number of the gold or silver coins minted is another factor which influences the coins values. Gold and silver coins that have millions of copies usually have lesser value than coins that only have a couple hundred copies.

Coin's Condition

The condition of the gold and silver coins may also influence their values. Coins that are in excellent condition will be much more desirable to collectors than coins that are damaged. The condition of the coins can influence the price considerably. That is why collectors find that it is much harder to sell a weathered gold or silver coin than a coin in good condition.

Rarity Of The Coin

The most important factor to determine gold and silver coin values is the rarity of the coin. Coins that are only left a few copies will have the highest value. Although many of the gold or silver coins may have been minted originally, in some cases the coins have been taken out of circulation. The few coins that are left will become more and more valuable as time goes on.

Silver and Gold Coins - Why Invest in Them?

Every discerning investor has cause to worry about what they see in the world today: recurring international and domestic strife, the declining value of the US dollar, terrorism and other factors are all combining to eat away at your nest egg and their future. At the same time, stock, bond, and the real estate markets appear chronically overvalued. Add the ever present threat of inflation, deflation, recession and depression, and it all means that the times ahead may be tougher that most imagine.

Amidst such uncertain economic environment, it is only natural that people should look for investment alternatives that can both preserve and increase their wealth over the long haul. Here lies the first reason why you should invest in gold and silver coins-they are a dependable store of value.

For thousands of years, and in both good and bad times, precious metals like Gold and Silver have offered investors a tangible way to hold and protect wealth for the long term-and with relative ease. Unlike paper-denominated investments-stocks, bonds, and currencies-which have so often become worthless overnight, precious metals have intrinsic or natural value that is timeless. They have always been and will always be valuable.

Indeed, investment experts have often recommended that at least 20% of an investor's portfolio should be in tangible assets such as Gold, Silver, and bullion coins. That is a far-sighted investment diversification strategy any time. And what is more, precious metals have also recently proven to be outstanding instruments for short-term trades, enabling traders to reap outstanding profits as prices fluctuate dramatically on world markets.

Our uncertain world of the 21st century has simply made changes too frequent, and not always for the better. We now live in a world where the whims and caprices of a few individuals or nations can quickly alter the economic balance that some of us take for granted. It therefore behooves every individual to be prepared for economic changes, recognize them, and be in position to make the most of rather than suffer from these changes.

For those who still ask for it, I give you two strong reasons why every person should consider investing in precious metals such as Gold and Silver coins now: They Are A Solid Hedge Against The Declining Dollar.

The US dollar has lost over 40% of its value against other major world currencies such as the British Pound, the Euro, and the Japanese Yen in the period since 2001. I do not want to go into the details of factors responsible for this loss of value. But suffice it to say that most of the factors are protracted and as yet ongoing; which means that investments pegged to the US dollar may yet lose even more value.

Gold, Silver, and other precious metals on the other hand are held and traded worldwide, having value that is not dependent on the fortunes of the green back. Indeed, as demonstrated during 2003 and 2004, the value or prices of Silver and Gold can and actually do go up at times when the value of the US dollar is taking a dip.

Gold And Silver Offer Great Price Appreciation And Profit Potential: Twice during the past decade (2000 and 2007-2009), stock market and other financial crises literally wiped out trillions of dollars of investors' equities. And although the first signs of recovery are beginning to appear, no major stock index is anywhere near their previous high levels. Meanwhile how did precious metals fare during the same period?

Prices of Silver and Gold have appreciated by over 50% within the same period! Which means while returns from stock and stuff were evaporating, precious metals were posting impressive returns on their investments. And many financial experts are forecasting that this trend will continue for quite some time.

For these reasons and many more the scope of this article will not allow us to cover, the Gold and Silver market surely present an outstanding investment opportunity. Investing in Silver and Gold coins is something you surely want to give serious look into you can find out more on this topic by visiting mymainproductismoney.com.

Silver Coins - Investing in Silver

Many people who have been looking for new areas in which to invest have turned to silver coins. Gold and silver both offer several advantages over other investments, and have been traded heavily over the past decade (not to mention the last couple thousand years). In this article, we'll go over some of the benefits of trading in silver and gold, as well as why people have been using it not only as an investment opportunity, but as a place to keep their assets secure.

Gold and silver coins are a popular investment because they steadily appreciate in value. While the stock market and housing crash have pushed the value of the United States dollar bill down over forty percent over the course of the last decade, the value of precious metals has continued to increase. This is because gold and silver retain their value regardless of the economic state of any country in particular. Investing in gold and silver has proven to give steady returns, making precious metals (including platinum and palladium) a secure way to grow financially.

Silver and gold are also a great way to increase your financial stability. If you have investments in things like the stock market, a sudden crash due to disaster, terrorist attack, or a multitude of other factors could cause your savings to be wiped out. Investing in gold is a popular way for people to secure their assets during times of political trouble, war, and economic instability. Gold and silver coins are so stable that the United States government chose to back up their currency with them, thus creating the gold standard. Taking advantage of the stability of gold and silver (not to mention the other precious metals) is a great way to make sure you do not lose your savings in the event of economic disaster.

Essentially, if you are looking for either a safe place to put your money to avoid depreciation (and even make a little money while you're at it) or a great way to invest your extra funds, then gold and silver coins are an excellent solution. By investing in gold and silver you'll have a secure source of income as well as a stable place for assets, regardless of many of the economy-changing events that may happen in the future. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, however, then time is of the essence. Economists predict the prices will continue to rise for months, even years, but the sooner you take advantage of this chance, the better.

American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins - A Must Have Coin for Every Collector and Investor

The American eagle gold bullion coins are available for purchase for those individuals who are passionate collectors, or individuals who invest in them in order to receive a greater monetary return (when selling). Of course, there are many different coins made out of different precious metals, such as silver, gold and platinum bullion coins. These coins are available in 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz and 1 oz denominations and their value is guaranteed by the U.S. Government and U.S Mint Company. The coins are made out of 22 karat (91.67%) gold, 3% silver and 5.33% copper, of which the latter two metals are used to create a more scratch resistant coin.

The South African Government was one of the first to create gold coins (the Gold Krugerrand coin), for collecting and investment purpose; and the United States Government soon followed with its version, the American eagle bullion coins, in 1986.

There are two types of individuals who normally purchase these coins; they are collectors and investors, but can also be a mixture of both. Collectors usually purchase coins as it is a tangible asset, a beautiful, symbolic piece to be admired in your hand, and which could be used to increase or complete their coin collection. Collectors could also sell their valuable coins when times are tough and money is required to survive.

Investors on the other hand, are more business focused and purchase coins to resell them at a later stage. Coins are easy to store and are priced according to their troy weight and the current market value, which can be found in most news papers (prices might be more as traders load fees to cover their costs).

The American eagle gold bullion coins are the most popular. These coins are only made with gold extracted in the U.S and are valuable as their designs seem 3 dimensional and symbolic. The American eagle gold bullion coins was first designed by Augustus Sain Gaudens, and the front of the coin depicts an elegant and beautiful striding Liberty, holding a torch in her right hand which symbolize freedom, and an olive branch, which symbolize peace, in her left. 14 Sun rays flow across her and the Capitol building blend in with the background to the left.

The back of the coin is inscribed with the words "In God we trust" and provides a powerful testimony to the viewer. The design further depicts a male eagle, with an olive branch in its claws, flying to the nest where the mother and chicks await; this represents important family values. For investment purposes I would personally suggest the American eagle gold bullion coins as they are a rock solid investment. As with all the other coins, gold is globally recognized as monetary and financial resources and therefore can be purchased and sold internationally. So what is the big difference from other coins?

According to usgold.com, 1,493,000 coins were produced in 2009 and even during the height of the recession 710,000, 1 oz coins, were produced; a great indication of the demand of American eagle gold bullion coins. If you buy the gold bullion coin, your investment can be diversified as the coins move independently of bonds and stocks. For sound money investments, buy the American gold eagle coin as it can protect your wealth. Even when gold prices fell, statistics indicates that gold always regain and increase its value over time. It may be a new form of investment for you, but it will deliver greater wealth for you than your traditional investment portfolios.

Don't miss out on the opportunity of the lifetime! The value of gold just keeps going up. And with it, so will the value of your American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins. If you are not on the gold-investing boat yet, you must jump in while you can! Go to http://www.goldbullionoz.com to learn more about gold bullion coins, investing, coin collecting and much more.

The History of Gold Coins and Understanding Gold Coin Values

According to history, King Croesus of Lydia was the one who introduced gold coins around 643-630 B.C. A pale yellow mixture of gold and silver called the electrum was a natural resource in Lydia. As people did not know how to separate these two metals, the first gold coins were a mixture of gold and silver.

In 560 B.C., the Lydians found out a way to separate gold from silver. At last, real gold coins were produced along with silver coins, although gold was considered to be more precious than silver. In 546 B.C., the Lydians captured Persian army and when the Persians walked around the Lydian kingdom, they were astonished with the gold coins. The Persians started learning to mint gold coins and after some time they used them for trading.

In the past, one of the most progressive nations in the world was Persia and they popularized the used of gold coins around the world. As a result, gold coins became an important currency for commerce. Many nations used them for trading and for some people, collecting gold coins became a way to accumulate wealth.

After many centuries, gold coins were stopped being used as a currency in 1933 because most countries considered them too expensive. There are some gold colored coins today, but they do not contain any gold.

How to determine gold coin values

As gold coins are not circulated anymore, they become valuable. Many collectors are chasing them to add their collections and to gain profits from them. If you want to gain profits, it is essential for you to understand factors that affect gold coin values as discussed in this section.

The first factor is age where the older the coin, the higher its value. These coins are antique artifacts and their age can reach centuries old. Some tests can be done to check the coin's authenticity and age if you want to determine gold coin values based on this factor.

The second factor is condition. Weathered coins will have lower values than good condition coins. There are some qualities that collectors look for to determine gold coin quality, such as the sharpness of the relief, the text, and the edges. Normally it is more difficult to sell weathered coins than coins that are in a relatively good condition.

The last factor is its rarity. When a gold coin is extremely rare, its value will skyrocket. In general, there are two factors that affect rarity. The first is the number created and the second is the number of coins that has been lost, damaged, or destroyed. There is a rare double eagle $20 gold coin minted in 1933. It was worth more than $7 million in an auction.

Gold and Silver Coins, The 80-20 Rule and the Need to Take Action Now

In turbulent economic times people have traditionally turned to precious metals to preserve and protect their wealth. In today's world, with rising levels of government debt, out of control spending and persistent high levels of unemployment more and more people are investing in gold and silver for financial security. This is a smart decision.

But talking about the need to invest in gold and silver coins and actually doing it are two entirely different things. For every person who buys gold and silver coins there are probably another 10 or 20 people who talk about buying coins, but who seem to never actually get around to doing anything about it. These are people who know they should start buying some gold and silver coins and who may even be advising others to buy these coins, but never take any action themselves. Why is this?

In life, most people procrastinate and never get around to doing a lot of the things they know they should do. According to the Pareto Principle, also known as the 80/20 rule, 80% of the result in any endeavor is achieved by 20% of the people while the remaining 80% of the people will end up dividing 20% of the result. It also means that when it comes to taking action, only 20% of the people will get around to doing anything while 80% while procrastinate and delay. Weirdly, this principle has proven to be roughly true in many different fields and disciplines.

The 80/20 rule applies to investing in gold and silver coins.

There are two primary reasons people procrastinate in buying gold and silver coins. The first reason is because they are unfamiliar with how to go about it. Very few people today have bought gold or silver coins and doing so is outside their comfort zone. For most people, this is reason enough to put off buying gold and silver coins until some undefined tomorrow.

The second reason people put off investing in gold and silver coins is that they are afraid of losing money. "What if I were to buy the coins today for X and tomorrow the price drops to Y?" they ask themselves. Since we never know the future this seems like a valid excuse, as price drops can happen, but this excuse is just that, an excuse. Both silver and gold are volatile metals that rise and fall in price. We can never know the perfect moment to buy them, just as we never know the perfect time to buy or sell a stock. There are people who have been waiting to buy since gold was $250/Oz and who are still on the sidelines waiting for the optimum time. They should have been buying all along.

It is my belief that everyone needs to own some gold and silver coins because bad things can happen to our money. Through inflation and possibly hyperinflation our money could become worthless. When this happens cash may not buy much, but gold and silver will. A portion of our financial savings should be in assets that are backed by tangible value. This can be achieved with gold and silver coins. If you don't own any, now is the time to take action and buy some coins.

The best way to overcome our tendency towards inaction is to make the decision to step outside our comfort zone and get started. This can be done cheaply and easily by starting out buying junk silver coins and then adopting a regular purchasing program over a given period, say for a year. By doing this you'll not only build up a nice little gold and silver reserve, you'll also become comfortable buying, trading and dealing in gold and silver. This is a skill that may come in handy in the future.

Why Invest In Silver And Gold Coins?

Each discerning investor today worries about what they presently see in the world: Reoccurring domestic and international strife, declining US dollar value, increasing terrorism and lots of other factors are eating away your nest egg.

Now the bond, real estate and stock markets also appear to be immensely overvalued. Add to this the inflation thread, depression and recession, and you can easily see that time ahead could be tougher than you could imagine.

In such an uncertain economic scenario, people should search for those investment alternatives which could preserve and increase their money over a long duration. This could be the first reason as to why you should make investment in the silver and gold coins.

Many financial experts recommend that at least 25 % portfolio of investor should consist of tangible assets like silver, gold as well as coins. These coins are also a sort of solid hedge against the dollar which is declining.

Moreover, silver, gold and many other precious metals are being traded around the world and hence their value is not at all dependent on the green back. This was also amply clear in 2003 and 2004 when prices of gold and silver actually went up when US dollar prices were down sliding.

The silver and gold have immense profit and appreciation potential. When during 2000, and (2007-2009) period when financial and stock market crises wiped out immense wealth from the equities of investors, the prices of gold and silver were appreciating and in fact increased by over 50% during this period! Most experts feel that this trend would continue for a long time even now.

Purchasing silver and gold coins would be right decision in current economic turmoil. There is surely a large economic storm which is in making and people who are clinging to the dollar assets could suffer huge losses.

There is a big talk going on here on economic recovery. Let me tell you one thing for sure. NO recovery is going to happen here! Just see the jobless rate and the markets.

So, silver and gold coins are what you should hold right now, because these metals are important hedge against the inflation.

Investing in Gold and Silver Coins

Just like stocks and shares, gold is a trade commodity and therefore the price is not fixed but related to demand and supply. It is often seen as a safe haven for capital, especially in times of fluctuating markets and crisis. Therefore during these unstable times, demand outstrips supply and the price of gold increases. After a peak of the gold price in the 1980's, supply was increased which bought the price of gold down to realistic levels. However following the worldwide credit crunch of 2009 / 2010 the price of gold has increased again to a near all-time high.

This has important implications for the man in the street particularly if you are wondering is gold a good investment? According to Stephen Leeb, Ph.D the only time gold investments under performs the stock market is in conditions of low inflation and high growth. With the world's finance ministers wary of what happened in the credit crunch, these conditions are unlikely to be allowed to happen again. Gold does not go out of fashion, even investing in gold and silver in the early 2000's and selling them at the recent high prices means you have quadrupled your money. Many experts also point out that these "so called"? highs are still below peaks in the 80s, giving plenty of room for profit taking.

Gold coin investing is also a separate market whose price is not only governed by the price of gold but the supply and demand of individual coins. Pre 1933 coins are becoming more and more sought after and an ideal investment opportunity, particularly when you think of today's demand for both the individual coins and the coins actual worth in gold. Investing in gold and silver coins is an ideal way to spread the risk of your investment portfolio and affords the investor the opportunity for a more relaxed investment. Consumer fashions, technology, weather and accidents don't affect the price of your gold coins investment as they would influence an airline stock for example, leaving the investor free of worry from the majority of external factors and not tied to The Wall Street Journal.

The gold and silver coin investment community is just that - a community. With a wealth of friendly information, tips, companies and internet sites available for the potential investor you do not have to be alone.

Buy Some Gold and Silver Coins

There is one truth about currency issued by nations throughout history: Every currency not based upon precious metals has failed. When I use the term "failed," I mean that the value of the currency decreased over time until it became worthless.

Contrary to all that you hear from investment analysts, stock brokers, economists, college professors or government spokesmen, there is only ONE WAY to create inflation. That is, when a bank or government issues currency that is not backed by precious metals.

Price increases do not cause inflation. Inflation causes price increases.

In these days of recession and perhaps depression, there are few investments one can choose that will not be eaten up by inflation. So, where can one look to find investment safety?

Stocks? Hardly...they are extremely volatile now, with wild fluctuations daily.

Bonds? No way...bond yields are historically low.

Government securities? Are you kidding? The American Federal Government is trillions of dollars in debt, with no honest way of ever paying off the debt. What is a US Savings Bond going to be worth if the government fails?

Other securities? Just as volatile as stocks.

Real Estate? Perhaps, if you are looking for rental properties. With the massive number of foreclosures today, homes can be bought for pennies on the dollar. And, those folks who left those foreclosed homes will still need a place to live. So, rental properties can be a good investment for those who buy smartly and operate wisely.

I recommend buying gold and silver coins right now for these reasons:

1. Gold and silver hold their value.

2. Gold and silver should not be bought for the investment appreciation, but as a store of value.

3. If or when the US dollar fails, all people will be seeking a mode of currency. Gold and silver coins come in many denominations, which will facilitate even the smallest commercial transactions. For example, if you own silver nickels, dimes and quarters, the silver value will allow you to make small purchases, rather than trying to split up a one ounce bar of silver.

4. Gold and silver coins should be bought for their purity and value, not for their intrinsic value. Said another way, don't load up on collector coins, but buy coins like the one tenth or one twentieth ounce of pure gold or junk silver.

5. Put your coins in a home safe or a bank safety deposit box, and consider them off-limits until catastrophic economic events occur.

6. If you have to sell them, there is always a market for gold and silver.
